Overview
Background: In my senior capstone course, we worked on a team to create a new business venture. This entailed putting together everything but a finished product or service (customer validation, market strategy, financials, minimum viable product) and then presenting to a panel of judges. At the time of this project, I put together a very basic representation of our product (a mobile application) for our minimum viable product, but I have since put together a more fleshed out comprehensive prototype. This prototype is what I’d like to show you.
Charge: Design a mobile application that features a simple and seamless way to track grocery inventory and a direct channel for food manufacturing companies to market to their consumers.
Process:
Business Model Creation and Target User Identification.

Target User
The target user is a young professional. These are people who are 20-34 years old who are only buying food for themselves. They are inexperienced shoppers who are busy with their career. They are not organized when it comes to keeping track of their fridge and pantry contents. On average, a consumer under the age of 30 wastes $500 per year due to food spoilage.
